A Secretlab Titan Evo chair and a Magnus Pro standing desk together costs around $1,700. For some, that might seem like an extravagant expense. For others, it’s a worthwhile investment in comfort, productivity, and long-term well-being. Are you wondering if this chair and desk combo is worth the investment? This article explores the pros and cons of the Titan Evo and Magnus Pro setup.

I’ve been using the Titan Evo gaming chair for three years. The first year was pure bliss. In the second year, I upgraded my setup with a Magnus Pro sit-to-stand desk. That essentially cut my sitting time in half, elevating my experience to new heights.
Now, it’s become second nature to enjoy pain-free comfort, sharp focus, and enhanced productivity every time I use this powerful combo.

After two years of using this combo, here are the benefits I enjoy the most:
- Improved sitting posture: with less time spent sitting, it’s easier to maintain good sitting posture.
- Improved standing posture: bracing your forearms on the desktop helps to ensure a clean neutral posture.
- More energy: shifting between sitting and standing reduces fatigue over a workday.
- Sharper focus: working fluidly at different desk heights keeps my brain engaged.
If you’re thinking about investing in this setup, here are the pros and cons, based on my personal experience.

Titan + Magnus Pro Positives
The primary purpose of any ergonomic chair is to support the spine in a neutral posture, maintaining a 25-45° curve in the lower back and a 0° tilt in the neck. In the Titan Evo chair, you can achieve this by setting the backrest to a 100° tilt, aligning the lumbar support just above the beltline, and using the headrest to brace your neck.

The Titan’s ability to maintain a neutral posture rivals that of the $1,700+ Herman Miller Aeron. However, sitting in any fixed position, even a neutral one, can strain your back muscles over time.

That’s why dynamic neutral postures are ideal – alternating between sitting in a neutral posture, moving your body, and returning to a neutral posture throughout the day.
Titan + Magnus Pro Dynamic Neutral Posture Support
While the Titan’s neutral posture support rivals the Aeron’s, its ability to support dynamic neutral postures blows the Aeron away. Besides having a much larger backrest tilt range, its flat, wide seat pan also encourages robust movement.

Stacking your Titan with a Magnus Pro desk takes movement to a much higher level. For one thing, transitioning from a sitting to standing position replicates a squat. This works your hips, bones, muscles, and joints.

For another thing, stacking a Magnus Pro desk with a Titan Evo chair essentially cuts your sitting time in half. In my experience, this makes it even easier to maintain good posture when you are sitting.
Titan + Magnus Pro Computing Comfort
Even with the support of a good chair, long sitting sessions can tire out back muscles. With fatigue, sitting upright becomes more strenuous. That’s when slouching can set in.

When I start to feel fatigue or discomfort, I simply toggle my Magnus Pro into a standing position. This immediately relieves fatigue by working my hips and legs as I transition to standing.

The reverse is also true. After an hour or so of standing, my legs sometimes feel fatigued. Then, I simply shift my Magnus Pro to a sitting position and kick back in my Titan Evo chair.

The result is consistent comfort — even while working 12+ hours per day. Any time I start to get tired, I shift from sitting to standing or vice versa. In my opinion, having that option justifies the price of the Titan Evo + Magnus Pro combo.
Titan + Magnus Pro Premium Pricing
The Magnus Pro desk costs $848 in the Secretlab USA Store. With a cable management bundle, a Magpad desk mat, a single mount monitor arm, and MagRGB smart lighting, the price is $1125. Stacked with a $549 Titan Evo chair, the price rises to $1,674.

In comparison, a Herman Miller Aeron costs $1805 in the Herman Miller Store — $131 more than a Titan + Magnus Pro combo.
While both chairs provide comparable neutral posture support, the Titan better supports dynamic neutral postures. Stacking a Titan with a Magnus Pro desk supercharges the dynamic aspect — for less money than a standalone Aeron chair.
From this perspective, a Titan Evo + Magnus Pro stack provides fantastic value for money.

Titan + Magnus Pro Negatives
Before plunking down $1600+ on a Titan Evo chair and Magnus Pro desk, you should be aware of the downsides. First, you can achieve similar postural support with a $200 gaming chair — and some discipline.
Second, making regular transitions from sitting to standing isn’t as easy as you might think. In fact, studies show that many people forget to use the standing functions, making their big investment irrelevant.
Titan + Magnus Pro = A Pricey LUXURY
If you’re on a budget, a $1600+ Titan Evo and Magnus Pro investment is extravagant. Regarding the chair, it’s possible to enjoy similar neutral posture support in something as basic as a $120 GTRacing gaming chair.

For another thing, instead of investing in a pricey standing desk, you can simply take standing or stretching breaks every 20 minutes or so.
Bottom line: if you’re on a budget, you can achieve similar benefits with a cheap ergonomic chair and some discipline. This makes the Titan Evo + Magnus Pro combo a luxury, not a necessity.
Magnus Pro Learning Curve
According to Professor Jack P. Callaghan (University of Waterloo, Canada Research Chair in Spine Biomechanics and Injury Prevention), a 1:1 standing to sitting ratio is the sit-stand desk ideal.
However, a study among 4 Swedish companies found that without training, only 20% of employees bothered using their desk’s standing functions. That study also found that even with training, using standing desk functions tends to taper off over time.

In my experience, this is accurate. It took me around eight months to get close to a 1:1 sitting to standing ratio.
Titan + Magnus Pro Recommendation
The Secretlab Titan Evo chair and Magnus Pro desk combo offer an exceptional ergonomic experience, providing unparalleled comfort, support, and flexibility for those who spend long hours at their desks. The dynamic posture support and the ability to seamlessly switch between sitting and standing make this setup a powerful tool for enhancing productivity and well-being.
However, this premium option comes with a premium price tag. At around $1,700, it’s an investment that only makes sense if you have the budget to afford it. If you’re looking for top-tier ergonomic support and are willing to pay for it, the Titan Evo and Magnus Pro are superb choices. But if you’re on a tighter budget, you can achieve similar benefits with more affordable alternatives, though it may require more discipline and effort on your part.
