Enki Gaming Chair Usability Review
The point of a gaming chair is to support good sitting posture. But that isn’t automatic. A chair’s features and sizing (in proportion to your size) will determine the quality of your sitting experience.
Common Enki Chair Features
Enki chairs come in four different flavors with varied feature sets. But at the core, all models share three common features. The first is a built-in, non-adjustable lumbar curve.
The second is a 21.25″ total seat width, including the side bolsters. Notably, the bolsters are soft (no steel underneath).
With no steel, these don’t limit legroom. That provides the freedom to sit as you like, plus enough space for thicker sizes.
Enki X Vs Enki Dimensions
Razer rates the Enki X for sizes 5’2″ and up; it rates the Enki for sizes 5’5″ and up. However, both versions have the exact same dimensions, except for the adjustable seat height. Beyond Razer’s size ratings are revised ChairsFX ones.
Spec | Enki X | Enki |
Seat | 21.25″ (total W) x 20.67″ (D) | Same as Enki X |
Seat height | 15.75-19.7″ | 17.52-21.46″ |
Backrest | 19.69″ (W) x 32.8″ (H) | Same as Enki X |

Recommended best fit: for sizes 5’9″ to 6’2″
ChairsFX Sizing Rationale
I’ve tested hundreds of gaming and office chairs over the years using my 5’9″ (177 cm) 165 lbs. frame (roughly around the global male average).
Those tests have been boiled down into the ChairsFX Sizing Guide. It uses a chair’s seat depth as the key fitting metric.
If a seat is too deep for your legs, it will pull your knees forward and distort your posture. For instance, my legs fit well in a 19.3″ Secretlab Titan seat. In contrast, a 19.7″ seat is a bit too deep for my legs (no gap behind my knees and the seat lip).
The above photo shows the 19.7″ Titan XL seat a touch too deep for my 5’9″ (177 cm) size. As another reference, the best gaming chairs for short people (under 5’6″) all have seats 18.9″ deep or less.
The Enki and Enki X chair seats are both 20.67″ — too deep for short legs!
Enki Sizing Hacks
The Enki’s 20.67″ seat depth is best suited to average sizes or taller. People 5’9″ or shorter run the risk of excessive seat depth. Also, shorter sizes will find that the non-adjustable built-in lumbar hits too high.

Ergonomic Footrest Hack
Most non-adjustable desks are 28″ or taller. To sit that high while keeping their feet planted, short people (5’8″ or less) can use an ergonomic footrest. A second benefit of using a footrest is that it can negate the problem of excessive seat depth.
Using a footrest widens your knee bend — angling your knees away from the backrest lip. Beyond mitigating seat depth, a wider knee bend also places less pressure on your butt as you sit.

Lumbar Pillow Hack
Beyond finding the seat too deep, short people may find the non-adjustable lumbar support hits too high. The general target is for support to hit just above your beltline. If it hits too high or low, it can distort good posture rather than support it.
Anyone who finds the built-in lumbar ill-fitting can fix that with a Razer external lumbar pillow. That will override the built-in system by letting you customize your lower back support.
As a bonus, using an external pillow will push your body around 2″ away from the backrest. That effectively reduces the seat depth by the same amount!
It’s a fruitful compromise. ChairsFX rates external lumbar pillows as the third most effective type of gaming chair lumbar support. Beyond size hacking, these are comfortable and very easy to use.
Bottom line: every short Enki user can enhance their experience with a Razer pillow.
Razer Enki Gaming Chair Reviews
Now that Enki sizing caveats are clarified, this section reviews the four variants in the Enki collection. Reviews start with the most basic Enki X; they end with the priciest Enki collab editions. Star ratings assess the quality of each chair’s feature set.
Razer Enki X: Cheapest Starter Model
3.5 out of 5.0 stars3.5
- Features: 2D arms; 90-152° recline; standard tilt (rock or lock upright)
- Upholstery: EPU synthetic leather (black with Razer green trim)
- Sizing: 5’6″ to 6’4″; 300 lbs
Pros
- The cheapest Enki chair
- Has a shorter adjustable seat height to suit shorter people
- Attractive black faux leather design with green trim
Cons
- A headrest is not included.
- Only has 2D arms and a standard (rock or lock upright) tilt function.
- Its premium price buys a 3-year warranty — and budget features.
Enki X Advice
The Enki X is also available on Amazon for $299.99
Razer Enki: Black, Green & Quartz
4.0 out of 5.0 stars4.0
- Features: 4D arms; 90-152° recline; multifunction tilt
- Headrest: included ($39.99 value)
- Upholstery: EPU synthetic leather in 3 styles
- Sizing: 5’6″ to 6’4″; 300 lbs
Pros
- Full-featured adjustability
- A headrest is included
- Best Enki value for money
Cons
- Some Amazon reviewers report the upholstery gets hot
- Already cited (fixable) seat depth and non-adjustable lumbar fit quibbles
Enki Chair Advice
Regular Enki chairs offer the best value in the collection. These come fully loaded with the same adjustable features as pricier ($999.99) Enki Pro chairs.
The big difference: regular Enki chairs come with conventional Razer headrests on straps. The two dark ones come bundled with a black and green version.
The Quartz edition includes a (grey) Quartz edition headrest. In the Razer Store, both are also available as add-ons for $39.99.
Verdict: for half the price of an Enki Pro, regular Enki chairs offer the same features — minus the fancy magnetic headrest. That makes them the best-value Enki variants in the collection.
Enki chairs are also available on Amazon for $477.82
Razer Enki Pro
The Enki’s newest edition officially ships on September 22. The Enki Pro has the same features as the regular $499.99 Enki chair. It differs with a magnetic headrest and higher-grade Alcantara Leather upholstery.
4.5 out of 5.0 stars4.5
- Features: 4D arms; 90-152° recline; multifunction tilt
- Headrest: premium strapless magnetic memory foam
- Upholstery: Premium EPU Synthetic Alcantara Leather
- Sizing: 5’6″ to 6’4″; 300 lbs
Pros
- Highest-grade Alcantara synthetic leather (softer & more breathable)
- Cutting-edge magnetic headrest
Cons
- Twice the price of a regular Enki
- Fixable seat depth and non-adjustable lumbar fit quibbles
Enki Pro Advice
For twice the price of a regular Enki chair, the Pro version comes bundled with a strapless magnetic memory foam headrest. Also, instead of EPU synthetic leather, it’s clad in Synthetic Alcantara Leather.
The latter is a higher grade, with superior breathability and a softer feel. The end result is a full-featured chair with a soft (synthetic) leather skin — and an astronomical price.
Verdict: hardcore Razer fans may revere the Enki Pro as a cutting-edge workstation centerpiece. Others not swayed by the flashy brand pedigree may find the price too extravagant for a gaming chair.
Ships September 22; only available in the official Razer Gaming Store.
Enki Pro Collabs
These are Enki Pro models with custom Alcantara synthetic leather skins. Like Pro variants, each collab edition also comes bundled with a magnetic memory foam headrest.
4.5 out of 5.0 stars4.5
- Features: 4D arms; 90-152° recline; multifunction tilt
- Headrest: premium strapless magnetic memory foam
- Upholstery: Premium EPU Synthetic Alcantara Leather
- Sizing: 5’6″ to 6’4″; 300 lbs
Pros
- Stunning designs in soft, breathable Alcantara synthetic leather
- A magnetic memory foam headrest is included
Cons
- In the same price range as world-class ergonomic office chairs
- Fixable seat depth and non-adjustable lumbar fit quibbles
- For hardcore enthusiasts only
Enki Pro Collab Editions Advice
Collab editions have the same features and upholstery type as $999 Enki Pro chairs. The only difference is the custom skin designs. For this ‘extra’, collab prices range from $999.99 to $1299.99.
Verdict: buyers seeking value for money should look elsewhere. These chairs are showpiece collector’s items for ultra hardcore Razer, Automobili Lamborghini, Koenigsegg, or Williams Esports fans.
Razer Enki Vs Razer Iskur
The Enki is the follow-up to Razer’s original Iskur gaming chair. Here’s how both models compare:

Recommended Enki Accessories
Razer also offers two relevant accessories to go with its Enki gaming chairs. Here’s a quick look:
Razer Head Cushions
Add-on headrest pillows come stuffed with memory foam in a striking triangular shape. These are especially relevant for Enki X owners (which sells without a headrest).
The $199.99 Chroma edition is the priciest. A USB cord running out the back powers a glimmering RGB Razer logo on the front. There are also standard black and Quartz editions available for $39.99.
Beyond being useful on Enki X chairs, these can also upgrade the basic headrest pillows that come bundled with Razer Iskur models.
Razer Floor Mats
Gaming chair floor mats are a luxury, not a necessity. I’ve used circular and rectangular ones in the past. In my experience, circular ones work best — rectangle-shaped ones tend to get tangled in gaming chair wheels.
Circular floor mats with good undergrip are ideal. These will decorate your workspace, keep your feet warm, and stay in place while you move around.
Razer offers three circular top-of-the-line mats. The black and green Team Razer edition ($129.99) is one of the most expensive floor mats on the market.
Team Razer Quartz and Sneki Snek editions cost $79.99 — also pricey versus other popular mats on the market (most cost under $60). Specs:
- Slip-resistant silicon base
- 120 x 120 cm dimensions
- Waterproof PET Film surface layer
- 2 mm-thin low-profile form factor
- Warranty: none specified
Verdict: stylish but pricey, compared to other floor mats. Even so, these are tempting additions that every new Razer chair buyer should consider.
Conclusion
Razer was founded in 2005. Over 18 years, it rose to become one of the world’s gaming hardware giants. Today, every gamer knows that Razer gear costs more than competing products.
Despite this, many have embraced Razer’s premium prices for three reasons:
- High-quality materials: consumers know that paying more = a high-end Razer build quality.
- By gamers, for gamers: passionate about gaming, Team Razer understands gamer needs. Along the way, millions of gamers worldwide have embraced Razer innovations.
- Brand loyalty: Razer has built up a strong, passionate gamer fanbase. Many who start with one Razer product end up adopting more from its gaming ecosystem.
Compared with other gaming chairs, Razer Enki models are overpriced. That’s a baked-in brand feature of all high-end Razer gear. Like Gucci and Prada, paying extra is part of the Razer buying experience.
That explains the wild popularity and rave reviews that Razer gaming chairs garner. Bargain hunters who don’t get it should look elsewhere for their gaming gear.
On the flip side, savvy gaming hipsters who know what’s up can buy a Razer Enki — directly from the official Razer.com Gaming Store.
